Goodbye 2011 Hello 2012!

As we close out 2011 I feel the need to reflect on what's happened and share my many blessings!  This year not only marked the one year of my husband making it home safely from Afghanistan but our baby girl was born on the same day.  Fun fact?  Our first date, Adam's homecoming and Abbie's birthday all happened on the 20th of March.  This year has been full of challenges but Adam and I have managed to make it through them all and are still walking through them together with the help of our Lord.

Adam is working at Waffle House in Adel as the store manager.  He works long hours but enjoys the people he works for and works with.  He's (in my opinion) a great addition to that store!  Plans are for him to start back to school in the next year and finish his 4 year degree so that he can teach.

Abbie is 9 1/2 months old!!!  My little baby girl is growing up so fast!  She loves trying new foods, she drinks well from her sippy cup!  She's all but walking but I'm sure that will come soon!  Today she stood up without using anything to pull up on so I'm guessing it's coming soon!

As for me I'm still working at the Greenleaf Counseling Center and taking care of my little family.  I'm so excited, pretty soon I'll be able to stay home for good with my baby girl!

Lots is going to happen in 2012 and I'm very excited to see where the Lord is taking our family!  Blessings to everyone and Happy New Year!

Parenthood is an adventure!

Abbie is now going on 7 1/2 months old and I'm finding out that being a parent is both a joy and an adventure...sometimes a frustrating one but still an adventure!  We are in the process of cutting our top 2 teeth!  One has come through all the way and we're waiting on the other one (it's a long process).  What I didn't realize is that while your child is teething they can have the following
  • Lack of appitite
  • lots of drooling
  • bad poop that burns their but
  • when they spit up it smells BAD
Yeah and that's not all but those are what I'm dealing with at this time.  What I'm really excited about is when she actually gets the teeth all the way in and starts grinding them.  *shudder*

You know what I just realized?  I don't know what I ever managed to talk about before I had a child!  Changing the topic...Thanksgiving!  I've started it on Facebook but I'm doing the ABC's of things I'm thankful for during the month of November.  I have listed them so far as
A-Adam and Abbie...I love them both so much and am so blessed to have an amazing helpful husband and a loving happy healthy baby!
B-My BFF Megan!  She has been with me for something like 16 years even through all my moves to different cities she has been to just about every one of them!
C-my cousins..I pray someday that Abbie will be able to live near her cousins so she can grow up and play with them.  I didn't live near mine but when we were together it was the BEST.  Well I really should get back to doing some chores and getting ready for our trip north this weekend.  Let me leave you with a picture of Abbie's cuteness!

Evidently I'm not to good at this blog thing...

October 27th...can you believe it's October 27th?!  October holds lots of fun things but the most joyful event is my husbands birthday!  It seems like we've been together forever and I can't believe just a few years ago I was celebrating his 23rd birthday! I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband and can't wait to celebrate his birthday for the next 80 years (or more)

October also means that Abbie is 7 months old (7 months and 7 days today) and I can't even believe it.  She is precious!  She is growing so fast I can't even blink or I'm gonna miss it!  She can crawl and chase down anything she puts her mind to, she has 2 teeth on the bottom (the top 2 are close behind) she pulled herself up for the first time at 6 months old!  She loves cruisin along the side of the couch...I keep tellin her to slow down cause mama isn't ready for her to grow up so fast!

Adam has started his TDY at a Waffle House in Tifton (about 45 minutes north of us) he's placed there temporarily while he proves he's ready to manage his own WH.  I am SO proud of him and how hard he is working for me and Abbie!  Hopefully just a few more weeks and we'll know where he's going to be placed permanently.  Only God knows where for sure but just in case I'm ready in case we have to move!

Well I think that's about all for right now, I have to go do my couponing planning for this weekends trip to the grocery store.  Blessings to all

I'm new to this

I must admit I've never really been into the whole blogging world but a few weeks ago (actually only a week ago) I ran across a blog that a friend posted.  It's called Time Warp Wife you can read her blog here and what I read there literally rocked my world!  Here is a woman that writes a blog to encourage and empower women to lead more Godly lives, to be a more Godly wife, a more Godly mother.  A blog that encourages me and pours into me like the bible tells us we're to do?! WHAT?!  Well I've read....I've read and I've read and I've READ.  Not only did I read her blog but I read The Better Mom blog which you can read here I read Life With Lissy which you can read here and I also found a Proverbs 31 ministry blog with daily devotions on it which you can read...yup you guessed it HERE.  I mean I had NO idea the blogs that were out there and they are all a result of women that God has called to rise up and to pour into young wives and mothers to be the women that He wants us to be.  I love it!  So join me in my journey as I read and pray and work very very very hard at changing the way I do things.  The things I say to my husband, the way I do things around the house, the things I teach my daughter.  We're in for an awesome ride here people!

Lord give me strength to endure what I'm about to take on.  Help me to respect my husband and not tear him down.  Help me to encourage my daughter and raise her to be a woman of great faith and respect for the man that she will one day marry.  Help me to power through housework even when I hate it.  Help me to rise each morning with a joyful heart being thankful that I have a job and help me to work my job with a joyful attitude so that I may come home and be joyful to my family as well.  In your name I pray

Be blessed my friends for we are loved by an ALMIGHTY GOD!
